Welcome
This course focuses on a practical introduction to statistical methods and analysis of data. We will use real data from the natural and social sciences to explore the concept of sampling variability, and understand why the presence of sampling variability demands that we introduce statistical methodology when answering questions from data. Topics include descriptive statistics, an introduction to probability, sampling distributions, hypothesis tests, and confidence intervals, with computing in R throughout.
